Terms of Service

Welcome to Schooly ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use Schooly.

1. Eligibility & Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent or self-guided learner account.
  • Student accounts are created and managed by a parent/guardian within a family account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • One person per account — sharing login credentials is not permitted.

2. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Schooly is designed to be used by families, including children under 13. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

  • Student accounts for children under 13 are created and controlled by a parent or guardian.
  • We collect only the information necessary to provide educational services.
  • Parents may review, modify, or delete their child's data at any time through the Settings page.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental consent.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to manipulate, hack, or reverse-engineer the platform or its AI systems.
  • Submit content that is harmful, abusive, or violates the rights of others.
  • Use automated scripts or bots to access the platform.
  • Resell or redistribute content generated by the platform.

4. AI-Generated Content

  • Schooly uses artificial intelligence to generate curricula, lessons, assignments, study materials, and grading assistance.
  • AI-generated content is provided as an educational aid and should not be treated as a substitute for professional educational assessment.
  • We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, but AI-generated content may contain errors. Parents and educators should review content as appropriate.
  • Schooly is not liable for decisions made based solely on AI-generated content.

5. Subscriptions & Billing

  • Schooly offers a free trial period. After the trial, a subscription is required for continued access to premium features.
  • Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. Pricing is $10/month base plus $5/month per student.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Settings page. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at support@schooly.ink.

6. Intellectual Property

  • The Schooly platform, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Schooly.
  • Content you create (notes, custom vocabulary) remains yours.
  • AI-generated curricula, lessons, and assignments are licensed to you for personal and family educational use only.

7. Account Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
  • Upon account deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

8. Limitation of Liability

Schooly is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
